Affiliate Summit Central 2012, the first Affiliate Summit in Austin, TX, kicked off with the official welcome party on May 14, 2012 with live music from The Cody Jasper Band, Sam Sliva and the Good, and FallenAsh.

The Affiliate Ball, taking place during Affiliate Summit East 2012 in New York City, has announced some details about the upcoming event.

Issue 18 of FeedFront Magazine has reached mailboxes and the attendees of Affiliate Summit Central 2012, and now we’re on to issue 19.

This week on the Affiliate Thing podcast, Shawn Collins and Lisa Picarille talk about two-foot long hot dogs at Texas Rangers games, ShareASale ThinkTank, stuff to do in Austin during Affiliate Summit Central, and that proposals are open for the next issue of FeedFront magazine.

Affiliate Summit is hosting a networking event during the ShareASale ThinkTank conference. The conference requires registration, but this party/meetup is open to anybody in this group. We’ll be providing a mixture of hors d’eouvres: mini beef wellington, mini BBQ beef slider on challah bun, chicken quesadilla with peppers and jack cheese, mini jumbo lump crab cake on jalapeno aioli, lobster and mango spring roll, tuna tar tar with toasted sesame seeds in a cucumber cup, and vegetarian eggrolls), as well as a mashed potato martini bar, Texas fajitas, and a prime rib of beef carving station.

We’re changing up the name-badges at Affiliate Summit Central 2012, so they’ll have QR codes this time around, instead of the barcodes we’ve had in the past.

Illinois Governor Pat Quinn signed HB 3659 into law back in March 2011, which forced out-of-state retailers to collect Illinois state sales tax for Internet sales, based on the view that affiliate marketers constitute a tax nexus for the retailers.
